The Hill of Tarvit is a 221 metre hill on National Trust for Scotland owned land, two miles south of the town of Cupar, and a mile west of the village of Ceres in the Kingdom of Fife. The Hill of Tarvit mansion under the southern slope of the hill was acquired by the National Trust along with the surrounding estate including the hill, which is prominent due to the monument on the summit. The pillar lies a few feet to the east and is in good condition. Views are extensive all around and four viewfinder panels are placed at the foot of all four sides of the monument.
STEEPNESS: A steep but short climb up from the south-east. A less steep route can be obtained by veering to the right towards a wood.
TERRAIN: Grassy pastureland.
ACCESSIBILITY: The National Trust car park a quarter of a mile south-east of the summit offers a signposted route. Although this is the steepest flank of the hill, it is also the shortest route to the summit.
NAVIGATION: From the car park a signpost points the way to a gate which offers access to the hillside. The monument on the summit can be seen from here.
DANGER: Livestock uses the hill for grazing.
