The Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Depot for Atwood was constructed in 1889. This two-story "combination" depot had living quarters for the station master and his family on the second floor. Having outlived its purpose, the depot (along with a caboose) was relocated to the northwest corner of Lake Atwood, where it now houses a non-profit crafts co-op.
