In 1829, a tragic murder took place in the building, when the student Jacob Wilhelm Blomdah murdered a fellow student Andreas Emanuel Landén. Both studied theology.
The murderer Jacob Wilhelm Blomdahl suffered from mental problems and occasionally had to take a break from his studies.
On September 7, 1829, the two students got into an argument, presumably for money. The quarrel ended with Jacob killing Andreas and hiding him in a closet. At night he took the body and tried to carry it through the city to bury it. However, he had to leave the body in the middle of a street as he did not have the strength to carry it. However, he had subsequently kicked, beaten and stabbed the body many times. Jacob was quickly arrested when traces of blood from the body led back to the house.
On April 16, 1830, Jacob Wilhelm Blomdahl was executed by beheading at the city's execution site.
The name Locus Peccatorum or Syndernas Hus (Sinner’s House) is the result of student humour.
