The manhole cover can be found at 3151 Apex Peakway, Apex, NC 27502. The manhole cover is found by driving down the right side of the store (facing the front of the store). There is plenty of parking nearby. You will need to walk a short distance to the manhole cover.
The 1873 stamped on the manhole cover is when the Town of Apex was officially incorporated. The design of the manhole cover reflects the historical nature of the Town of Apex downtown area and the Apex train depot (now the Town Chamber of Commerce). The design (which is the current seal of the Town of Apex) features a store, water tower and railroad tracks.
