For the first 17years of it's life Centurian Tank N0 169042 as a training vehicle at Puckapunyal. In 1969 it was shipped to South Vietnam but in February 1970 was badly damaged (burnt out) when it hit a mine,it was then shipped back to Australia and rebuilt, before being sent to storage. In early 1977, it was re-issued to 1st Armoured Regiment for the last time, spending most of that time with the regiment, before being returned to Bandiana.
Along with most of the other Centurions 169042 was sold to Combat Vehicles P/L in the late 1980's, who then on-sold it to Mr Parker of Moliagul, from there it went to Kingston S.E., and then to Coomandook in the early 2000's before being purchased by Glen Simpson in 2014 who restored it. The tank was put on display, under cover, in a park alongside Dukes Hwy
