Armia "Poznan", byla zwiazkiem operacyjnym Wojska Polskiego istniejacym od 23 marca do 21 wrzesnia 1939 roku pod dowództwem gen. dyw. Tadeusza Kutrzeby. Stworzona zostala w celu obrony Wielkopolski oraz wspólpracy z sasiadujacymi armiami "Pomorze" oraz "Lódz".

Opis pomnika:
Pomnik przedstawia przeciwstawione sobie bryly: 5 smuklych elementów skierowanych ku górze symbolizuje polskie bagnety, opierajace sie pancernym silom niemieckim, przedstawionym jako 4 pochylone, szare slupy. Na scianach umieszczono nazwy pól bitewnych Armii, nazwy jednostek, wchodzacych w sklad Armii "Poznan" i nazwiska kilkudziesieciu oficerów i zolnierzy, reprezentujace wszystkich poleglych w walce. W srodku symbolicznego mauzoleum znajduje sie wyrzezbiony krzyz Virtuti Militari, najwyzszy polski order wojenny. Na pomniku znajduja sie równiez slowa wziete z ksiazki generala Kutrzeby: "Starali sie wykonac niewykonalny w 1939 roku obowiazek - obrone Polski" –Wikipedia

Opis miejsca:
Pomnik znajduje sie w okolicy Cmentarza Zasluzonych Wielkopolan, na skwerze pomiedzy dwoma ulicami. Pomnik zajmuje spora czesc skweru, tworzac betonowy plac.


The "Poznan" Army was an operational union of the Polish Army existing from 23 March to 21 September 1939 under the command of Major General Tadeusz Kutrzeba. It was created in order to defend Wielkopolska and to cooperate with neighboring armies "Pomorze" and "Lodz".

Description of the monument:
The monument shows opposite sides of solids: 5 slender elements facing upwards symbolizes Polish bayonets, leaning against armored German forces, depicted as 4 slanted, grey poles. The walls bear the names of the Army battlefields, the names of the units that make up the "Poznan" Army and the names of several dozen officers and soldiers, representing all those killed in battle. In the middle of the symbolic mausoleum there is a carved Virtuti Militari cross, the highest Polish military order. On the monument there are also words taken from General Kutrzeba's book: "They tried to do an impossible duty in 1939 - to defend Poland" –Wikipedia

Place description:
The monument is located near the Cemetery of Meritorious of the Greater Poland, on the square between two streets. The monument occupies a large part of the square, creating a concrete yard.
