Cmentarz zasluzonych Wielkopolan (dawniej Cmentarz starofarny) zalozono na pocz. XIX w. jako nekropolie poznanskiej fary, czyli kolegiaty pw. sw. Marii Magdaleny. W 1948 r. zostal ustanowiony Cmentarzem Zasluzonych Wielkopolan i stal sie miejscem pochówku wielu wybitnych poznaniaków. Mozna tu znalezc grób m.in. Cyryla Ratajskiego, ale i wiele pomników osób silnie zwiazanych ze stolica Wielkopolski.
Cmentarz zajmuje teren o ksztalcie nieregularnego wieloboku o powierzchni ok. 2 hektarów.

Cemetery of meritorious Greater Poland (previously Old-time cemetery) was established in the early nineteenth century as a necropolis of the Poznan Parish, a collegiate church of St. Mary Magdalene. In 1948 it was established as the Cemetery of Meritorious of Greater Poland and became the burial place of many outstanding citizens of Poznan. There is a grave of, e.g., Cyryl Ratajski, but also many monuments of people strongly connected with the capital of Greater Poland.
The cemetery occupies the area of irregular polygonal shape of about 2 hectares. It is located on a hill, what makes the cemetery is not uniform. In its present shape it is divided into a burial part - on the hill and on the top, and a park part located on the bottom of the area.
