Hidden gem of an abandoned cemetery located in the north end of Oshawa, off Wilson and Winchester Roads.
Research conducted by the Oshawa Museum indicate the cemetery dates from approximately 1863, as this is the only dated stone still at the site. Other records indicate burials occurring in the 1870's.with none after 1877.
Although records indicate the existence of a church at one time, the cemetery appears to have been a private family plot.
Interestingly, the pillar at the entrance is not original to this site. It was originally located at Lot 12 Concession 6. Elim is located at Lot 7, Concession. 6. the name "Elmcroft" possibly refers to a local family from Lot 12.
