This pillar box stands on the west side of Venn Street, close to the junction with Sedley Place and right outside Royal Mail’s Clapham Delivery Office. It has been positioned so that the cipher is pointing towards the adjacent houses, rather than perpendicular to them as is often the case.
Many layers of paint make some of the inscriptions difficult to read. The box is numbered SW4 43.
Tell us about the area the post box is situated.: This pillar box is in a primarily residential area of Victorian-era housing, a short walk from Clapham High Street. The only non-residential property immediately by the pillar box is the Royal Mail Delivery Office.
