This Solar System Model is at the entrance to the Planetarium at
Science Museum Oklahoma. The planets hanging overhead are to scale, but the distances are not. The model is lit by a bright yellow "sun" on the wall.
When I taught astronomy I would use the students to make a scaled-to-distance model of the solar system, with a few floor tiles as one AU. They were always amazed that at that scale Neptune was all the way at the end of the hall, and the furthest mankind had traveled was not even the thickness of a fingernail.
