"It borders the municipalities of Coristanco, Santa Comba, Mazaricos, Vimianzo, Lage and Cabana de Bergantinos. With an elongated from north to south, the most striking point is the Pico Meda. Although landlocked, the municipality is located in the central area of the Costa de la Muerte. To the north of the municipality runs the Rio Grande, and the parishes of southern river Xallas."
