The Médiactions association and elected officials warn about the condition of the ancient Authon-Ebéon battery, one of the two remains of this type in the department.

They are now only two in Charente-Maritime. Two ancient piles erected in open countryside in the communes of Saint-Romain-de-Benet and Authon-Ebéon, listed as Historic Monuments since 1840. None of them has been restored and the second - called a "lantern" d'Ebéon by the locals - is shaky (1).

L’association Médiactions et des élus alertent sur l’état de la pile antique d’Authon-Ebéon, l’un des deux vestiges de ce type dans le département.

Elles ne sont plus que deux en Charente-Maritime. Deux piles antiques érigées en rase campagne sur les communes de Saint-Romain-de-Benet et d’Authon-Ebéon, classées aux Monuments historiques depuis 1840.
