La cinquième église (1918-)
La cinquième église, l'église actuelle, est édifiée de 1916 à 1918 à même les murs de l'église incendiée, par l'architecte Georges-Émile Tanguay (1858-1923). Les hautes flèches de Berlinguet ne seront cependant jamais reconstruites. Leur absence constitue d'ailleurs le seul moyen de distinguer les deux églises dans l'iconographie ancienne, le parti pris ayant été vraisemblablement de restituer le monument précédent, et ce, tant à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur.
L'église, qui mesure 82 mètres (270 pieds) de longueur sur 27 mètres (88 pieds) de largueur, développe un plan longitudinal avec un chœur plus étroit que la nef, un chevet plat, surmonté d'un clocheton, et se terminant par une sacristie. Edmond Bélanger agit comme entrepreneur général et Jean-Baptiste Dufresne, comme maître maçon. L'intérieur de l'église est la reproduction du décor néo-gothique conçu par François-Xavier Berlinguet. Comme auparavant, la nef est divisée en trois vaisseaux séparés par des arcades gothiques soutenues par des piliers avec chapiteaux à motifs végétaux. La structure de la voûte, la balustrade, les bancs et la chaire sont en tout point similaires à ce qui existait antérieurement. La différence la plus notable consiste dans l'ajout d'une corniche [bandeau] dans le chœur, au-dessus du maître-autel et du retable. Cet intérieur nous plonge véritablement dans l'époque victorienne avec ses boiseries très foncées, sa polychromie d'époque, ses ornements de plâtre abondamment moulurés, son chemin de croix grand format, et l'abat-son de la chaire qui expose des angelots polychromes. Restauré en 2001 par les architectes Lemay, Guy et Associés, le décor intérieur est en excellent état.

The Fifth Church (1918)
