This marble stone in the Ebenezer Cemetery with it's dove of peace at the top, is a marble stone on a marble base over 130 years old.

"The dove is the most frequently seen animal symbol in the cemetery. It is portrayed in a number of poses, but most frequently it is seen holding an olive branch, a reference to the dove sent out by Noah to search for land, and explained in Genesis 8: 10-11

"The dove became the symbol of purity and peace because God had made peace with man. It also became a powerful symbol of the Holy Ghost, as illustrated in John I: 31-33" ~ Stories in Stone a Field Guide to Cemetery Symbolism, by Douglas Keister, 2004,

"Port Hudson is an unincorporated community in northwestern Franklin County, Missouri. A post office called Port Hudson was established in 1859, and remained in operation until 1909. Ebenezer Lutheran Church is now served by the post office in Leslie." ~ Ebenezer Church
