This 16th-century hotel offers a unique stay with the flair of old Italy. The former palazzo, which reportedly also served as a monastery for a time, offers both antique, restored rooms and new rooms. Many parts of the palazzo have been renovated and now serve as a bar, dining room, etc. We especially liked the dining room in a former wine cellar with high vaulted ceilings. Fastidious people might prefer the modern rooms, but for us the choice of an old room was just right. The spacious room was spread out over 2 floors, furnished with older wooden furniture, and had an extra-long balcony with great views in almost every direction. And we could also look down to the pool, that we didn't try as it was November. :-)
The staff was very helpful and friendly at any time. It was very convenient that the hotel has two entrances. One allowed us to easily get to our bus and the other was our way into the old town. Before our departure we were invited to a snack in the current wine cellar, where we were offered many Tuscan specialties and wines.
