Lieu de pèlerinage connu depuis le xvie siècle fréquenté par des pèlerins venus de Nivelles et de Bruxelles en visite au sanctuaire le 25 mars, jour de l'Annonciation et le 2 juillet, fête de la Visitation, ce n'était au départ qu'un simple bâtiment de bois. C'est entre 1677 et 1680 qu'est construite par l'abbé Wirion - curé de la paroisse - la chapelle actuelle. Le 23 décembre 1700, un bref du pape Clément XI accorde des indulgences particulières à la chapelle. L'édifice est restauré en 1870 et classé en 1980.

La chapelle actuelle est construite en briques et pierres calcaires sur un plan octogonal. En 1707, un porche profond d'une travée, en brique et pierre d'Arquennes, agrandit l'ensemble en venant s'accoler au pan d'entrée. Porche sur soubassement en pierre de taille, terminé en doucine et couronné par un bandeau. En façade, entre deux harpes d'angle, beau portail baroque en pierre : dans un encadrement rectangulaire, porte en plein cintre à clé et flanqué de volutes, ménageant en creux un panneau avec le chronogramme

Pignon en forme de fronton courbe, bordé de pierre moulurée, ponctué au sommet et aux retombées d'amortissements en pots à feu. De chaque côté, une fenêtre à encadrement calcaire, avec linteau échancré à clé passante et montants harpés.

A well-known pilgrimage site since the 16th century, it has been visited by pilgrims from Nivelles and Brussels who come to the sanctuary on 25 March, Annunciation Day and 2 July, Feast of the Visitation. It was originally a simple wooden building. Between 1677 and 1680, Abbot Wirion - the parish priest - built the present chapel1,2. On 23 December 1700, a brief from Pope Clement XI granted special indulgences to the chapel3. The building was restored in 1870 and listed in 1980.

The present chapel is built in brick and limestone on an octagonal plan. In 1707, a deep one-bay porch, made of brick and Arquennes stone, was added in 1707, adjoining the entrance. The porch is built on a base of ashlar stone, finished in a doucine and crowned by a band. On the facade, between two corner harps, a beautiful baroque stone portal: in a rectangular frame, a semi-circular door with a key and flanked by volutes, with a recessed panel showing the chronogram.

Gable in the shape of a curved pediment, edged with moulded stone, punctuated at the top with the fallout of fire-pot amortizations. On each side, a limestone framed window, with a recessed lintel with a passing key and harped uprights.
