A stucco relief of the coat of arms of Bishop Christopher Joseph Weldon is located on south wing of St. Hyacinth Senior Friars Residents. The impaled coat of arms contains the coat of arms of the Diocese of Springfield on the left which is a cross with with four spheres in each quadrant representing fountains. On the right side is the rho-chi monogram of Christ in the upper part. A saw shaped border separates the upper and lower parts. The lower part contains three ermine spots as depicted on the Dwyer coat of arms of Ireland. Dwyer was his mother's family name. Below the shield is a banner with the motto: UT CHRISTUM FERAM (That I may bear Christ).

Christopher Weldon was born in the Borough of the Bronx in New York City on September 6, 1905. He was ordination a priest on September 21, 1929 and became a bishop on March 24, 1950. He was then appointed the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield. He served in this position from March 24, 1950 to October 15, 1977.
