Translated from the above noted text:
“Christ Church is a place of worship in the Anglican tradition built from 1819 to 1821. The plan of this red brick building consists of a rectangular nave with a aisle and a narrower choir with a flat apse flanked by 'annexes. The facade has an imposing central half-finished tower surmounted by a bell tower. A low-pitched gable roof tops the nave and chancel. The church is erected on a large lot occupied by a cemetery and planted with mature trees. It rises in the old village core of Saint-André-Est, today included in the municipality of Saint-André-d'Argenteuil.

The Presbyterian community (Church of Scotland) of St. Andrews undertook to build a stone church in 1819. Abbott immediately began construction of Christ Church. In order to assert the Anglican presence by giving his temple a certain presence, the pastor prefers brick to wood and endows it with a central tower on the facade, like the classic English churches of the end of the 17th century. and the first half of the 18th century designed by Christopher Wren (1632-1723) or James Gibbs (1682-1754). The openings are in a pointed arch, like those in New York's second Trinity Church, built from 1788 to 1794, and reflect the enthusiasm for Gothic architecture from the end of the 18th century. The land of Christ Church, built from 1819 to 1821, and its rectory, built in 1820, was donated by Sir John Johnson (1741-1830), Lord of Argenteuil. Johnson and Abbott were involved in building the church and organizing the parish, which was erected in 1822. Funding for the work was largely provided by the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign."
