David Saville - Kirk Michael, Isle of Man - Dedicated Benches on Waymarking.com

This bench in honour of Dave Saville, a 9 times Isle of Man TT sidecar winner and twice British Champion, can be found in the beer garden in front of The Mitre Pub in the village of Kirk Michael.

This concrete wooden bench has a solid backrest, and a ‘slatted’ seat but no armrests. Mounted on the backrest is a large rectangular plaque has the following inscription:
‘IN
MEMORY
OF
DAVE SAVILLE
9 TIMES TT SIDECAR WINNER & TWICE BRITISH CHAMPION
17TH APRIL 1947 – 7TH MARCH 2006’
In the top left-hand corner of the plaque is an ‘oval’ colour photograph of Dave Saville in race action, and in the top right-hand corner is a triskelion (three-legs of man0 in red and gold.
This bench in honour of Dave Saville is positioned in the pub’s beer garden so as to provide views of the Main Road (A3) which is part of the Mountain Course which is used for the Isle of Man TT and Manx Grand Prix/Classic TT Motorcycle Races.
