DE: Im Rahmen der Aktion "Gebäude erzählen Geschichte" hat der Lions Club in Brühl in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Brühl Anfang 2011 fast dreissig Tafeln mit Hintergrundinformationen zur Geschichte der Gebäude gestiftet. Diese graue Tafel mit weißer Schrift befindet sich am ehemligen Kaufhaus Zier Ecke Markt 26 und Bahnhofstraße 4-6 und trägt folgenden Text:
Der Gebäudekomplex besteht aus ehemals drei eigenständigen Fachwerkhäusern aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, die im Laufe der Zeit zusammengewachsen sind. In der allen gemeinsamen Hauswand an der Bahnhofstraße stecken noch Steinkugeln aus dem 30-jährigen Krieg.
Vielen Generationen angesehener Brühler Bürger dienten die auch als "Zum grünen Wald" bezeichneten Häuser als Mietwohnungen.
Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts wurden sie verputzt, dann auch teilweise aufgestockt. Vor 1900 erwarb die Familie Zier den Gebäudekomplex. Sie richtete dort das Gemischtwarengeschäft "Kaufhaus Zier" ein.

DE: As part of the "Buildings tell a story" campaign, the Lions Club in Brühl, in cooperation with the city of Brühl, donated almost thirty boards with background information on the history of the buildings in early 2011. This gray board with white lettering is located at the former general store Zier at the corner of Markt 26 and Bahnhofstrasse 4-6 and bears the following text:
The building complex consists of three independent half-timbered houses from the 16th century that have grown together over time. In the common house wall on Bahnhofstraße there are still stone balls from the 30 Years War.
For many generations of respected citizens of Brühl, the houses, also known as "Zum grünen Wald" (to the green forest), served as rental apartments.
At the beginning of the 18th century, they were plastered and then partially raised. The Zier family acquired the building complex before 1900. They set up the general store "Kaufhaus Zier" there.
