The line of the Greenwich Meridian was marked in around 1984 on this residential street close to a gateway into Greenwich Park. The marking is in two forms. There is a metal strip across the pavement at an appropriate angle, flanked by three rows of parallel bricks to either side. Across the road surface, at the junction with Feathers Place, the line is continued in the form of thirteen metal studs.
Set against the wall of a residential property on the south side of the road is a plaque. This reads “GREENWICH MERIDIAN - Zero Degrees Longitude” and indicates which way is west and which east.
