This mural of a downtown building scene is located on the west facade of the E-clips Building located at 225 1st Avenue West in Newton, Iowa.

This mural is massive - taking up an entire side if a two-story building that is half a block long. The artist, again, is Carl Homstad, who painted the mural on 215 1st Avenue West. This mural is much more visible than the castle courtyard scene and servers as an official welcome into Newton. This mural was painted in 2003 and repainted in 2017.
The mural shows three typical downtown buildings in Newton - a cafe and deli; an appliance store selling Maytag appliances (Maytag got its start in Newton); and flower and gift shop. What is very interesting is the the artist chose to paint the buildings in a Victorian Era Italianate architecture just like old time town square buildings. People in the mural are eating, shopping, and living in small town America. This quite an interesting and colorful mural.
