Translated from the above noted text:

The church of Saint-Édouard is a place of worship in the Catholic tradition built from 1842 to 1849 and enlarged by the facade in 1907. The stone building has a Latin cross plan composed of a nave with a vessel, of a transept and a narrower choir ending in a semicircular apse. Its facade has a slightly protruding central tower surmounted by a bell tower and it is confined by two turrets topped with a campanile. Ailerons mask the slope of the gable roof. A stone sacristy of rectangular plan with one and a half floors, topped with a roof with turned up gables, is grafted to the apse in the extension of the choir. The church is located in the village core of the Gentilly sector of the city of Bécancour, on a terrace bordered by farmland along the St. Lawrence River. It is surrounded by the presbytery, a park with a statue of the Virgin, the community hall and the former convent.
