Streszczenie
Pomnik, przed którym stoicie, upamietnia porwanie, a nastepnie uwiezienie dowódców Polskiego Panstwa Podziemnego pod koniec marca 1945 roku. Do pokojowych rozmów zostali oni zaproszeni przez Rosjan, którzy zapewnili im bezpieczenstwo. Cale spotkanie okazalo sie byc pulapka.

Historia
Zeby dobrze zrozumiec kontekst nalezy zaczac od wydarzenia jakim byla Konferencja Jaltanska (tzw. wielkiej trójki), która odbyla sie w lutym 1945 roku. Jej wynikiem Polska uzyskala nowe granice, ale równiez ustanowione zostalo stworzenie przy uzyciu sil demokratycznych "tymczasowego rzadu jednosci narodowej". Reprezentacja Polskiego Panstwa Podziemnego dla dobra narodu, z wielka gorycza postanowila uznac nowopowstaly rzad, by nie zostal on zdominowany przez srodowiska komunistyczne i by byla mozliwosc dzialania partii polskich. Dopiero w czerwcu 1945 roku, w Moskwie rozpoczal sie "Proces szesnastu" - pokazowy, nielegalny proces polityczny, w którym wszyscy delegaci zostali oskarzeni o dzialania przeciwko sowietom. Jego glównym celem byla dyskredytacja legalnych wladz Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej w oczach polskiego spoleczenstwa. Sam przebieg rozpraw nie mial wiekszego znaczenia, gdyz wina byla z góry zalozona. 21 czerwca zapadly wyroki od 4 miesiecy do 10 lat wiezienia, czesc delegatów uniknela kary. Niektórzy skazani nie dozyli konca wyroku.

Pomnik
Pomnik wykonany jest z granitowych tablic - 16 z nazwiskami powstanców i jeszcze jedna z opisem.

Abstract
The monument in front of which you are standning commemorates the kidnapping and then the imprisonment of the Polish Underground State commanders in late march 1945. They were invited to peaceful talks by the Russians, who guaranteed their safety. The whole meeting turned out to be a trap.

History
In order to understand the context, it is necessary to start with the event which was the Jaltese Conference (the so-called Big Three), which took place in February 1945. As a result of the conference Poland gained new borders, but also the creation of a "temporary government of national unity" with the use of democratic forces was established. The representation of the Polish Underground State for the benefit of the nation, with great bitterness decided to recognize the newly formed government, so that it would not be dominated by the communist circles and that there would be an opportunity for Polish parties to act. In such a situation the Russian side decided to invite the commanders of the Polish Underground to talks, during which they were to establish the conditions of mutual cooperation. The Russians assured that they had honest intentions and guaranteed the safety of the Polish delegation. Despite the great mistrust, it was decided to accept the invitation. This decision turned out to be dramatic. The meeting was to be held on March 27th and 28th in a villa at 3 Pecicka Street (currently Armii Krajowej 11/13), which turned out to be the seat of the NKVD. Those arriving on those days were immediately arrested and deported to the USSR, where they were imprisoned for 3 months. It was not until June 1945 that the "Sixteenth Trial" began in Moscow. - A showcase, illegal political trial in which all delegates were accused of acting against the Soviets. Its main goal was to discredit the legal authorities of the Republic of Poland in the eyes of the Polish community. The course of the hearings itself was of little importance, because the guilt was pre-determined. On June 21, sentences were passed from 4 months to 10 years in prison, some of the delegates avoided punishment. Some of the convicts did not live to see the end of their sentence.

The monument is made of granit plaques - 16 with the names of the insurgents and one more with the description.
