Sundial on the apex of the south porch of St Peter & St Paul's church, Long Compton. The porch is a late 14th century gabled porch with a stone-slate roof and coped gable.

"An 18th century vertical stone sundial is sited on the church porch. It declines 5deg West and shows the hours from VII – VI in half and quarter hours. Uses cross for Noon and (probably) IIII. Few numerals now visible. Rectangle of stone missing under gnomon supporter. Evidence that hour lines cross part of this rectangle suggesting that a plaque may have been sited there at one time. Simple strip gnomon with single supporter. Possible lettering across the dial plate top. This may end in a date ?VII."
