The second highest point in the department, the Lande du Chêne Rond offers an exceptional panorama. A site of remarkable landscaped interest, the biodiversity of this natural space makes it very popular with naturalists in the region.

Protected environment
Located in the town of Puy-Saint-Bonnet, the Chêne Rond moor, with an area of ??6.5 hectares, rises to 184 meters above sea level. The diversity of its environments: ponds, rocky outcrops, meadows, hedges, etc., has allowed the development of specific and sensitive vegetation and fauna. The moor is now home to many endangered and protected animal and plant species. The Collectivity has been working for several years to increase the biodiversity of this natural space.
More than 90 species of migratory or sedentary birds make it a place of great ecological wealth and a privileged observation site.

Deuxième point culminant du département, la Lande du Chêne Rond offre un panorama exceptionnel. Site d’intérêt paysager remarquable, la biodiversité de cet espace naturel en fait un lieu très prisé des naturalistes de la région.

Environnement protégé
Située sur la commune du Puy-Saint-Bonnet, la lande du Chêne Rond, d’une superficie de 6,5 hectares, culmine à 184 mètres d’altitude. La diversité de ses milieux : mares, affleurements rocheux, prairies, haies…, a permis le développement d'une végétation et d'une faune spécifiques et sensibles. La lande abrite aujourd’hui de nombreuses espèces animales et végétales menacées ou protégées. La Collectivité œuvre depuis plusieurs années pour augmenter la biodiversité de cet espace naturel.
Plus de 90 espèces d’oiseaux migrateurs ou sédentaires en font un lieu d’une grande richesse écologique et un site d’observation privilégié.
