This small cemetery is named after the daughter of the first settlers here; at the ghost town of Ima, New Mexico.

Ima Cemetery is the final rest for about fifty souls. It is named for the daughter of Walter and Laura Moncus, who were traveling through the area in 1902 but were waylaid by a winter storm and sheltered in a nearby canyon. Their daughter Ima was born in 1903, and the Moncuses built a general store to serve others who were settling in the area. When the Post Office was established in 1908, the town was named for Ima. That post office closed in 1955, leaving Ima as a ghost town. Descendants of the original settlers still live in the area. The cemetery has been maintained by the Sparks family, who have several burials here (most recently in 2014). You can read more here and at the link below.
