Universidade de Coimbra is the 6th oldest in Europe and it was created in the 13th century. Its faculties are spread in town, mostly in the old quarters.

Despite have its rooted dated of 1911, this faculty is one of youngest branches of the University. 1977 was the year when the first degree of Pedagogy was included in the University. In November 1980 it was legally created this Faculty, hosted in the current facilities since 1985.
