The granite memorial to Alfred Skitt Reed consisting of two curved benches with ends formed as wings with three-toed claws at the bottom. The benches are placed on top a semicircular stepped base. The architect for the memorial was was H. L. Movius and the contractor was Edward H. Shaw, contractor.

A bronze plaque on the ground in front of the benches is inscribed:

1897 - 1924

ERECTED BY HIS MOTHER

Alfred Skitt Reed, was born in Yonkers, NY in 1897. He was a veteran of WWI. He died in an car accident near Canastota, N.Y. on October 30, 1924 and is buried in Mahaiwe Cemetery in Great Barrington, MA.
