The former Post Office was built in 1882 and operated here until moved to the present site in 1993.Terowie was an important rail junction up until 1969 with large marshaling yards and two long platforms with broad gauge one side and narrow gauge the other with all kinds of goods being man-handled across from one side to the other, in it's heydays the town had a population of over 2000, most employed on the railways, today there are less than 150.
