The Burma Star Memorial in memory of those who died in the Burma Campaign 1941-1945 is located on Burma Star Island in Queens Park. The central lake islands were re-landscaped in 1968 as a memorial to those who fought in Burma in the Second World War. The plaque is mounted on a stone memorial and is inscribed as follows; The badge of the Burma Star Association is mounted above the text. "BURMA STAR ISLAND THIS ISLAND GARDEN WAS DEDICATED ON 26TH. MAY. 1968. BY THE RT.REV.G.A.ELLISON.D.D. LORD BISHOP OF CHESTER

The park was designed by Edward Kemp and laid out by railway engineer Francis Webb and Richard Moon who was the Mayor of Crewe in 1888. It was dedicated in 1887 and opened to the public in 1888.
