The Bank of Ottawa was incorporated in 1874. In 1905, a branch of the Bank of Ottawa was opened in this building in the village of Richmond. By 1919, the Bank of Ottawa had merged with the Bank of Nova Scotia. The bank then became a branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia and was active at this location until 1970.

The building was purchased by the Loyal Orange Lodge in 1928. This old building retains many elements of the Loyal Orange Lodge. The former banking space is now occupied by a tattoo shop.
