En hyldest til John Lennon
John Lennon, (født 9. oktober 1940 i Liverpool, død 8. december 1980 i New York City) John Lennon var en af sin tids største musikalske begavelser og en af drivkræfterne i The Beatles. Beatles var modstandere af Vietnamkrigen. Skulpturen er en hyldest til John Lennon og hans indsats for en mindre voldelig verden.
John Lennons bedst sælgende sang er Imagine. Også julesangen "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" er meget kendt og en protestsang mod Vietnamkrigen. Under Vietnamkrigen afholdt John Lennon og Yoko Ono i 1969 to bed-ins for fred som et led i deres ikke voldelige protester mod krig.
Kunstneren Susanne Ussing (1940-1998) har lavet skulpturen "En hyldest til John Lennon." Skulpturen har teksten "War is over if you want it" indgraveret 4 gange. Skulpturen er placeret ved et torv overfor et kunstmuseum.

The Beatles were opposed to the Vietnam War. The sculpture is a tribute to John Lennon and his efforts for a less violent world.
John Lennon's best-selling song is Imagine. Also the Christmas song "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" is very well known and a protest song against the Vietnam War. During the Vietnam War, John Lennon and Yoko Ono held two peace-bed prayers in 1969 as part of their nonviolent protests against war.
The artist Susanne Ussing (1940-1998) has created the sculpture "A Tribute to John Lennon." The sculpture has the text "War is over if you want it" engraved 4 times. The sculpture is located in a square opposite an art museum.
