Rotterdam has added two eye-catchers! From now on, two gigantic feet will walk on the Binnenrotte in the same place as where the first inhabitants of Rotterdam once walked. "Everyone is dead except us" is the name of Ben Zegers' artwork.

The artwork consists of two aluminum feet of 7.5 meters high. One foot is in front of the DE café, the other in the grass next to the Markthal. The artwork refers to the origins of the city (there, on that spot, the dam in the Rotte was laid 750 years ago), but also to the function of this place as a market. The dancer by artist Degas from Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen served as the model for the work. The title "Everyone is dead except us" is a call to everyone to make something of it together.
