Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Cemetery is found on the north edge of Costilla, New Mexico. On the church grounds, southeast of the main entrance, is this veterans memorial listing several conflicts and naming several veterans. This marker lists locations (e.g. Bataan) and areas of service (Battleship) as well as the traditional names of conflicts. The marker also makes special note of Coast Guard Artillerymen who fought and were taken prisoner on Bataan.
