This church replaced the much-altered original meeting house when the latter burned in 1896. The site has been used for a church since the South Parish of Worcester was founded in 1773 and has been a center of activity for over 200 years.

A Victorian combination of various classical styles; the decorative cornice spans the front gable and continues out to a second span over the covered entryway. There are lintels over the windows, a turret adjacent to the front gable and the tower has dentiled cornices both above and below the triple palladian windows. An eclectic combination in the same sense as the town hall .
