Florence Lilian Newitt was born on January 31, 1878 in Brighton, East Sussex England and passed away on May 11, 1980 at 102 years of age in Penticton, British Columbia.

Oliver Cemetery was established about 1870 and is very well maintained. There is a veterans section, and a scattering garden and the oldest sections are Sage and Okanagan. There are approximately 3,500 interments that are graced by towering trees and well maintained grassy areas.

There are numerous dedicated benches and trees, and a memorial garden with a gazebo.
