The CVS store at 112 W. Main Street, Kerrville, TX is the safest place to park to then walk to the benchmark on the bridge. There is an entrance/exit driveway for the CVS store that connects with W. Main Street. Watch for traffic from all sides!! The benchmark is right at the base of the bridge and just feet from the driveway entrance of the CVS store. There is a telephone pole standing next to the concrete retaining wall on which the benchmark is mounted. If the clutter and trash is cleared away, you should see the marker clearly. It is in good condition.
If you stand at the benchmark and look across the bridge, you will see the parking lot and building of Gibsons Discount Center across the street at the opposite end of the bridge over Town Creek.
Always be careful and observant when looking for any waymark in a location like this where congested traffic may occur. Best if small children NOT go with you on this adventure. Also, be aware that there is a large cactus with long leaves and start prickers on it that is next to where you need to stand to see the benchmark. It will prick you if you let it.
