[FR] Initialement, une gare devait se trouver plus à l'est, près de Blois. Après le refus des élus locaux, la SNCF a décidé de déplacer la gare dans les environs de Vendôme.

[FR] La gare a été mise en service le 25 septembre 1990.
La gare est située à environ quatre kilomètres à l'ouest de Vendôme sur la LGV Atlantique. Elle jouxte la forêt domaniale de Vendôme. Une technopole est en cours de développement.
Ce choix était délibéré, pour promouvoir le cadre de vie de la région auprès des touristes ou des entreprises. Le terrain n'étant pas viabilisé, il a fallu réaliser les aménagements routiers pour relier la gare à la D957 et amener l'eau et l'électricité.
[EN] The station was put into service on September 25, 1990.
The station is located about four kilometers west of Vendôme on the LGV Atlantique. It adjoins the national forest of Vendôme. A technopole is under development.
This choice was deliberate, to promote the living environment of the region to tourists or businesses. As the land was not serviced, it was necessary to carry out road improvements to connect the station to the road D957 and bring water and electricity.
