This ornate wooden confessional is located on the South Wall, framed by stained glass windows. It is located on the south lower level, one of six confessionals at ground level on this side. This is one of four tat are framed by stained glass. The top is adorned by the Crossed Keys, also known as the Keys to Heaven. The crossed keys represent the metaphorical keys that Jesus promised to St. Peter, empowering him to take binding actions in leading the institution of the Catholic Church. In short, they are a symbol of the Pope's authority.
