This monument can be seen in Avenida Sá da Bandeira, one of the most trendy avenues of Coimbra, a major town in central Portugal which is considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
It's a beautiful monument, named "Coimbra aos seus mortos na Grande Guerra 1914 1918", which can be translated as "Memorial of Coimbra to its fallen in the Great War of 1914-18".
It's a massive granite statue, with four soldiers with their backs to the center of the monument. There are a few additional plates placed later.
It was created by Luís Fernandes de Carvalho Reis and António Varela and inaugurated in July 1932.
