"A first paper mill was installed on the river in 1791. The Société Lacroix frères was founded in 1833 in the bridge building. The paper mill developed on the site until its liquidation around 1885 and in 1901 became a factory producing cigarette paper intended for Eugène Bardoux who acquires the stationery and relaunches the production of cigarette paper whose emblem was an elephant.
It operated until 1970, when the factory moved elsewhere. Abandoned, the factory was bought by the city in 1979. Many buildings were destroyed, others were rehabilitated, in particular as a paper museum.
The Saint-Cybard fireplace, built between 1887 and 1890, was attached to the boiler room building. It is the only intact vestige of the famous Nile paper mill and represents the symbol of this internationally renowned industry. "

" Un premier moulin à papier est installé sur le fleuve dès 1791. La Société Lacroix frères est fondée en 1833 dans le bâtiment-pont. La papeterie se développe sur le site jusqu'à sa liquidation vers 1885 et devient en 1901 une usine produisant du papier à cigarette à destination d'Eugène Bardoux qui acquière la papeterie et relance la production de papier à cigarette dont l'emblème était un éléphant.
Elle fonctionne jusqu'en 1970, date à laquelle l'usine s'installe ailleurs. A l'abandon, la fabrique est rachetée par la ville en 1979. De nombreux bâtiments sont détruits, d'autres sont réhabilités, notamment en musée du papier.
La cheminée de Saint-Cybard, construite entre 1887 et 1890, était accolée au bâtiment de la chaufferie. Elle constitue le seul vestige intact de la célèbre papeterie du Nil et représente le symbole de cette industrie de renommée internationale."
