The Lenoir Cotton Mill, built by Major Wm. Ballard Lenoir between 1810 and 1821, is one of several structures that made up Lenoir's Station. Lenoir and his sons also built Lenoir Inn (family home which also served as stagecoach station and hotel, a flour mill, a warehouse, a general store, a brick mill, a planning mill, and a church.
