Six different eras mark the history of the place: middle ages (12th), 19th century, 4th quarter 19th century, 1st half 19th century, 20th century, 4th quarter 20th century. We only have information from the 19th, there are traces of the 12th in the heart of the church.
"The Sainte-Marie-Madeleine church in La Chapelle-Moulière, at the beginning of the 19th century, was smaller than today: the choir then occupied the narrow part of the building and the western wall closed it to the left of the front door.
After 1844, it was extended 6m to the west. Between 1866 and 1870: repair of the side walls, vault, roofing, repairs to the bell tower. The old rectangular sacristy which extended the choir is destroyed and the foundations of the old apse are discovered; a semicircular apse is rebuilt on these foundations. The eastern part of the current sacristy is built.
Between 1898 and 1900: partial repair of the roof, widening of the side buttresses, addition of a room to the west of the sacristy. End of the 20th century: release of adjoining buildings, repair of exterior plaster. The lower part of the bell tower seems old. Likewise, the old chancel, narrower, lower and covered with flat tiles, has elements that probably date back to the early chapel.
The interior volume is simple and quite bright. The single nave is made up of unequal spans. It is covered with a false semicircular barrel vault with double arches. The apse has a cul-de-four vaulted ceiling. The walls are plastered and whitewashed, adorned with discreet faux-appliance decor. "

Six différentes époques marquent l'histoire du lieu : moyen âge (12ème), 19e siècle, 4e quart 19e siècle, 1ère moitié 19e siècle, 20e siècle, 4e quart 20e siècle. Nous n'avons que des informations à partir du 19ème, il reste des traces du 12ème dans le coeur de l'église.
" L’église Sainte-Marie-Madeleine de La Chapelle-Moulière, au début du 19ème siècle, était plus petite qu’aujourd’hui : le chœur occupait alors la partie étroite de l’édifice et le mur occidental la fermait à gauche de la porte d’entrée.
Après 1844, elle est allongée de 6m à l’ouest. Entre 1866 et 1870 : réfection des murs latéraux, voûte, couverture, réparations au clocher. On détruit la vieille sacristie rectangulaire qui prolongeait le choeur et l’on découvre les fondations de l’ancienne abside ; une abside en hémicycle est reconstruite sur ces fondations. La partie orientale de la sacristie actuelle est construite.
Entre 1898 et 1900 : réfection partielle de la toiture, élargissement des contreforts latéraux, ajout d’une salle à l’ouest de la sacristie. Fin du 20ème siècle : dégagement de bâtiments accolés, réfection des enduits extérieurs. La partie inférieure du clocher paraît ancienne. De même, l’ancien chœur, plus étroit, plus bas et couvert de tuiles plates, comporte des éléments qui remontent probablement à la chapelle primitive..
Le volume intérieur est simple et assez lumineux. La nef unique est formée de travées inégales. Elle est couverte d’une fausse voûte en berceau plein cintre avec arcs doubleaux. L’abside est voûtée en cul-de-four. Les murs sont enduits et blanchis, ornés d’un discret décor en faux-appareil. "
