Sespenroth was village near Montabaur. It was fouinded at the end of 14th century. In the middle of the 19th century during the migration-wave the citizens of theis village decided to move to the United States. On the Tuesday after Easter 1853 13 family started their long journey to America which ended in Wisonson. 4 families decided to stay in Germany but they settled in other villages nearby. That is, the end of Sespenroth can dated on 29. March 1853.
Today a memorial plaque gives information about the former village and the only left artifact is a way-cross which was placed near the village.
