Only a few hundred meters from the origin of the Gudenåen are the swimming pools, a water park from the 1930s. It was Denmark's first water park. Now there are only ruins left.
The first basin was built in 1920 and was intended as an water trough for the animals. But soon children and servants began to bathe in it. In 1938, several basins were built, and later that year it was officially opened as a water park. There was room for 400 people.
There was also a carousel and a water slide built of wood.
The area was expanded with a restaurant selling sodas, coffee and cake.
It is believed that the water park closed between 1947-1950.
