This interpretive sign stands on the north side of the trail, noting that the monarch butterfly is the State Insect of Texas, with a depiction of its life cycle, going from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. A map shows their migration patterns, and there is some reading about what the monarchs like to eat.
