Vintage John Deere Model GP tractor on display at Pete's Canada Centre Heritage Museum east of Winnipeg near Tache, MB.
The Model GP (General Purpose) was John Deere's answer to the International Harvester Farmall series. It was originally designated the Model C, but was changed basically as a marketing strategy.
John Deere built a total of about 36,000 GPs, including the Model GPWT which had a wide tread and a tricycle front, and the GPO, which was lowered and had fenders for working in orchards.
