International Harvester was the parent of the Farmall tractor series. The line began in 1923, with the eventual introduction of the alphabet series in 1931. The Farmall Model A and Be were virtually identical, with the Model A having an offset engine and seat, known as "cultivision".

There were a total of 117,552 Model A's built between 1939 and 1947.

The Model A is one of about 100 pieces of vintage tractors, pieces of equipment and farm vehicles on display at Pete's Canada Center Heritage Museum located on the Trans Canada Highway just east of Winnipeg near the village of Tache, MB.
