Die Selbitz ist ein 36,6 km langer, orografisch linker Nebenfluss der Saale im östlichen Frankenwald in den beiden Freistaaten Bayern und Thüringen. Sie gilt als Gewässer dritter Ordnung. Der Quellbereich wurde in den letzten Jahren durch bauliche Maßnahmen optisch und technisch aufgewertet.
